Five on Friday

I'm linking up with my favs April at A. Liz Adventures and Christina at Carolina Charm for.....

I just love 5 on Friday, don't you? I respond will to things in list form and I look forward to reading everyone's each week. Anyway, here it goes......

ONE
I have my first Rent The Runway experience this weekend and will tell you all about it soon. I oddly got my earrings early this week so I've been getting my money's worth by wearing them to work.

TWO
I am proud to say that I've been starting the mornings off recently with a fresh smoothie. I make enough for both Andy and I in the morning. I like knowing we are getting more fruits and veggies in our daily diet. This morning we had orange juice, greek yogurt, bananas, spinach, pinapple, grapes, and strawberries. Isn't it pretty! (Well it was until I mixed it.)
THREE
We have a wedding to go to tomorrow and along with some other stuff I got the sweetest print for the couple. I got it from the Southern Weddings Magazine website and I just love it. Any thoughts on what kind of frame I should put it in?
FOUR
I have been dreaming of summer and beaches all week since it's been cold and rainy. What I wouldn't do to be laying on the beach looking at this view right now:

FIVE
Thank you to everyone who wishes my sweet pup Camden a happy birthday! We had a nice long walk, lots of new bones to chew, and a doggie ice cream that he devoured.

Happy 1st Birthday Camden!

Today is my sweet Bernese Mountain Dog's first birthday.

This year has flown by, but I can't imagine our lives without him. We have been through so much together and we love him to pieces!

(First trip to the vet)

Camden was such a sweet puppy. He loved being outside from the very first day home and it's a challenge to get him inside now that we can't pick him up.

He loves walks. This is from his first walk outside and we literally had people stop their cars to look at him. He has always been a handsome fella.

He grows like a champ. On average he gained three pounds a week until he was 6 or 7 months old. When we picked him up Camden was 10 pounds at 8 weeks, now he is close to 90 pounds. Can you believe is isn't finished growing?!?!?

And part of growing up includes a little surgery and a plastic cone. I don't know who was more excited for it to come off, Camden or Daddy's knees.

He loves to sleep and can be found laying around all over the house.

He is extremely social, which is odd for the breed. He will do anything to get to other dogs and he has some great friends.

It pains me to say this, but it is obvious who his favorite is.

But he sure does love his Mommy too.

Camden just completes our family.

Happy Birthday Baby Pup!
(I should probably stop calling him that, but we'll see)

Has Anyone Ever Tried....? (Part 3)

Self Tanner?

My background is German and Scandinavian. To say the very least I am pasty white all year round. I don't tan, I burn and then immediately change back to white.

So my only real option is sunless tanner. I'm a fan of spray tans from the salon but they are pricey and you have to plan your week around when to get them. I love the flexibility of at home self tanners. I've tried a million but they all either look fake/orange, are super streaky, or smell awful.

I think I'm ready to spend a little more for a product if the quality is good. Has anyone tried any of these?

Weekend in Review

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We had a great one, but man it went fast.

I've decided I need to be better at taking pictures, and using a real camera, not my phone. So I dutifully carried my camera (point and shoot, nothing fancy) around and took pictures. Then, of course, I forget the cord to transfer them to the computer while I write this. AHHHHHH! So please excuse the borrowed pictures.

Saturday we drove to Greenwood, SC to visit our good friends who had a baby girl recently. The baby is teeny tiny and so sweet. I forgot how small babies are when they are brand new.

On Sunday I decided that I was going to make a fun Sunday dinner. I made Pioneer Woman's Perfect Roast and Creamy Mashed Potatoes. I can't say enough good things about these recipes and really anything the Pioneer Woman makes is wonderful. You have to be careful because she isn't afraid of butter, fat, and salt, but it's pretty worth it. I save her stuff for special occasions for this reason though.

Andy and I also spent a slightly embarrassing amount of time on the couch watching House of Cards on Netflix. Andy loved it right away, but it took me a couple episodes to get into it. However it's safe to say we are both completely hooked now. We are a little ways into season 2 and I can't wait to continue. Have you watched it?

Five on Friday

I'm linking up with my favs April at A. Liz Adventures and Christina at Carolina Charm for.....

ONE
I have never been able to get into the Greek yogurt phase. I don't love the tang. That was until I had Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt. It's awesome! I eat one for breakfast and I'm not hungry again until lunch. And more importantly, it tastes amazing. I'm officially on the Greek Yogurt bandwagon.

TWO
I love travel and have been toying with the idea to recording where I've been with a map and pins. I've seen a bunch of different versions. Has anyone made one before?

THREE
April at A. Liz Adventures once mentioned that her favorite eye makeup remover was Andrea Eye Q's Pads. I just had to have them and they work like a dream. No more using 15 cotton balls at the end of the night. Couple swipes with these pads and you are done.

FOUR
Yesterday evening was warm-ish and sunny, which was a blissful break from the cold and rainy weather we have been having. Andy and I jumped at the chance to fire up the grill. It was the first time we used our grill pan for the veggies and we are hooked. Nothing was overdone or charred, just cooked and with the great grill flavor. A must for spring.

FIVE
This weekend we are going to visit our very good friends and their new baby Abby. I'm so excited! I don't want to show up empty handed and a while back a new mother told me to always just bring diapers and wipes. I have followed this rule, along with bringing some frozen dinners, and it always goes over well. Any other suggestions of something useful to take?

Have a fabulous weekend!!!!

First Day of Spring

Yay for the first day of spring! I'm ready for warm weather, grilling for dinner, and lots of fun new clothes. I'm excited about all the bright colors, stripes, and even black and white styles that are hot this season. I have many of the items below and still need to pick up the rest. Do you have any new Spring wardrobe favs?

Has Anyone Ever Tried.......?

https://www.renttherunway.com/rtr_home
I know this company has been around for a while and everyone that has used it seems to like it. But I need some more recommendations before I pull the trigger. Have you ever ordered from Rent the Runway?

I have a "black tie optional" wedding at the end of March and I want a fun dress for the event. They also have a post rehearsal dinner dance the Friday night before. I've picked a couple dresses that could work for either event I think. The reception will be outside in South Carolina, so I think I'm going to go with a short dress.

Here are a couple options I was thinking about. What are your thoughts?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

For a girl who doesn't have a drop of Irish blood in her, I sure do love Ireland, St. Patrick's Day, and anything green.

I went to Ireland when I was 18 years old and I still think it's one of my favorite places on earth. The people are laid back and friendly, the culture is based around eating and drinking, and the landscapes are breathtaking. Truly forty shades of green.
