Five on Friday

I'm linking up with Darci, Christina, Natasha, and April this morning for Five on Fridays.

ONE
I'm kind of obsess with Dove Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia Body Wash. At first I thought it was a strange combination, but I'm loving it now. It's like something out of Bath and Body Works, but for way cheaper.

TWO
Is anyone else binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix? I actually own all the seasons, but haven't watched them in years, and all of a sudden I can't get enough of it. Andy thinks I'm crazy, but the show brings back so many memories of watching it with my mom and friends through the years. P.S. Scary thought, I am now closer to Lorelei's age than Rory's. Ummm...not sure when that happened and I don't like it.

THREE
I'm thinking I need to expand my scarf collection. I was in World Market yesterday, which is always dangerous, and I fell in love with a ton of their scarves. What do you think?

FOUR
I saw these magnolia wreaths on Pinterest and I must make them for Christmas this year. The instructions on Southern Living's website look pretty easy. Has anyone ever tried this? Are they as simple to put together as I think?

FIVE
I am so excited because a bunch of my college girlfriends and their significant others will be in town this weekend for the game! I haven't seen some of them in ages and I can't wait to catch up. We usually do this once a year and this will be the first time we include all the guys. There is just something about this group of women that warms my heart.

Jewelry With A Meaning

I don't wear a lot of jewelry. It's just never been my thing. I didn't have my ears pierced until I was 21 years old, I know that's unheard of these days. However I try to wear at least fun earrings now and I'm lucky if I remember a necklace or bracelet.

While saying this I have a few pieces of jewelry that mean a great deal to me and I pull them out when I need a little extra strength that day or if I'm super happy.

Pearl studs
Andy gave me my first real pearl earrings one Christmas while we were dating. They are my go to piece of jewelry: they go with everything, pearls are always in style and classic, and I just feel pretty wearing them.

Monogrammed locket
My mom wore a locket when I was a kid that had a picture of me and my brother. I thought it was so neat and had to have one of my own. This was the first item I ever purchased with my married monogram on it and it holds a picture of my dad. I had it attached to my wedding bouquet, along with his wedding ring, so he would be with me the whole day and I wear it now on days when I need his strength and guidance.

My wedding and engagement ring
I'm sure this is the same for all married women but I love my rings. They remind me of Andy and I's relationship and the life we are building together. Looking at them can instantly take me back to our engagement day, wedding day, and first anniversary trip. I constantly play with them with my thumb and I feel naked without them.

Do you have jewelry that you that means something to you?

Gamecock Homecoming

Gamecock Homecoming

It's Homecoming Weekend for the South Carolina Gamecocks tomorrow and we are all set here in Columbia. There are tons of tailgates going on and the weather should be beautiful, so it should be a great day. I thought I would share some of my favorite Gamecock things for Five on Friday.

ONE:
I'm not into wearing a jersey or a t-shirt on gameday. We are wondering around, catching up with old friends, and well you want to look cute. Old Navy's Go Pinot Go is the perfect garnet color and paired with black shorts you are ready to go.

TWO:
I'm super late for the Toms bandwagon, but when I saw this South Carolina version on Zulilly for $25 I couldn't pass them up.

THREE:
I am obsessed with Revlon's Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Brilliant Bordeaux. You put it on once and forget about it. No reapplying. Drink, eat, chat, whatever you want. That lipcolor isn't moving.

FOUR:
I love a good serving piece. Does that make me weird? Either way, I love themed platters, they just make everything more festive.

FIVE:
When we got married we received a ton of Tervis tumblers and we literally use them everyday. However, they are crucial at tailgates. They keep your drink icy cool and are unbreakable.

Must See Movie

Happy Monday!

I ended up having to work most of the weekend, so as a treat we went to see Gone Girl in the theater. I read the book and thought it was good, but I honestly thought the movie was better. They did an amazing job, everything was so impactful. Andy really liked it too, this is no chick flick y'all. I definitely recommend it!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I'm linking up with Darci, Christina, Natasha, and April this morning and make sure to hope over and see all the other great Five on Fridays. They are doing a fabulous giveaway and I think any blogger would love that prize. Fingers crossed! ;)

ONE:
I am a little crazy about Trader Joe's Botanical Bounty hand soap. It smells so good. Who doesn't love fancy smelling soap for super cheap.

TWO:
I talked about our search for living room furniture last week and randomly we found a rug over the weekend. I was so back and forth about it in the store, but love it now. Camden is a huge fan of it too. It's white, grey, and yellow and I can't wait to decorate around it. (PS please ignore all the clutter)

THREE:
I am almost finished with Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. It's interesting and an easy read, but I'm not sure why it took the book world by storm. Maybe it'll make since at the end.

FOUR:
It's Oktoberfest in Columbia this weekend and I can't wait! The food and craft beer selection looks phenomenal and it's always fun to watch the dances and skits.

FIVE:
Four years ago today Andy asked me to marry him. It was a total surprise and included my whole family. I couldn't have planned it better myself. It was such a great day and I love replaying it in my head.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Raisin Rosemary Crisps

Y'all! Run, don't walk, to your nearest TJ and pick these two items up. They work perfectly together and I'm obsessed. (P.S. They just so happen to pair beautifully with wine too.)

Happy Fall Y'all!

We had a nice little preview of Fall weather over the weekend and it official disappeared as soon as Monday hit. I love Fall and wish South Carolina would let us enjoy it a bit.

I’ve been really bad in the years past about decorating for the different seasons, so I thought I would get into the pumpkin spirit with would front door. Since we ripped out all the bushes we desperately needed something to liven up the front of our house. These small pumpkins make me smile. I'm thinking I need a couple potted mums to finish up the look.

I’ve also become a little obsessed with Honey Crisp Apples. Trader Joe’s has the small snack size ones  and my friend brought me some pears from her yard. I’m loving the fall fruit.

What are some of your favorite Fall things?

Five on Friday - I'm Back!!!!!

Five on Friday, oh how I’ve missed you.

I’ve missed blogging too. I’m catching up with all my usual blogs and can’t wait to find some new ones through the linkup.

ONE:
We had a really fun experience last night at work. (How often do you get to say that?) One of my co-worker’s old roommate is about to take her sommelier test. To give herself a little practice she did a wine tasting for us. We all brought snacks, lit some candles, and learned a lot about wine. So fun!

TWO:
We have been looking around for a couch for our formal living room. We don’t want it too formal, just comfortable and inviting. I’m thinking I want a linen color and maybe some nail head detailing. I’d love your thoughts or if you have found this anywhere.

THREE:
We have also been visiting plant nurseries to get some landscaping ideas. We need a hedgerow for the front of our house so badly. On the way out I saw these mums and thought they were so pretty. I’ve only ever seen them in planters, never placed in the ground. I love the pop of color they bring.

FOUR:
We live about 5 minutes from a Village Idiot Pizza in Columbia and we recently tried their hurricane pizza, with pepperoni added, and it was amazing. That pesto swirl makes it out of this world good, and pretty!
FIVE:
My Gamecocks lost a heart breaker of a game last weekend and I will be firmly rooted to my couch on Saturday cheering them on in Kentucky. We’ve had a good time tailgating this season, despite the insane heat in August and September, and can’t wait for the rest of the home games.

Have a great weekend and we’ll see you soon. Make sure to link up with Darci, Christina, Natasha, and April so see all the other great Five on Fridays.
