Help Others By Playing With Food

I’ve finally gotten my butt in gear and started studying for the GMAT. (It’s just like the GRE but for business majors.) I am studying for this inane test because I am thinking, very seriously, about going back to school. I come from an education oriented family, both Mama and Daddy Olsgaard have multiple degrees and both worked for USC. So getting a grad degree has always been in my thoughts. I was told by my professor that I should get a least one year of work experience, which I have done now, before going back. But before I can do that I have to take the GMAT. I cannot express how much I hate standardized test. I think they are useless since they definitely do not showcase what I have learned. In college I learned how to market products, manage employees and faculties; at the very least they let me use a calculator. (Damn you math section!!!) I definitely didn’t study the structure of sentences and ridiculous math problems. But like every other grad student hopeful I will suck it up and take the stupid test, eventually. ;)

In hopes to help me with my studying my mom sent me a very cool website to help me extend my vocabulary. Its call http://www.freerice.com/ and it is amazing! You have a voc question and if you get it right the website donates 10 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program. I thought it was a hoax at first but it’s completely true. Check out what the Times has to say about it. Also if you are bored, check out the other 50 Best Websites of 2008. There are some really cool ones. Anyway it’s a pretty fun and easy way to help some others in need.

  1. HA! Would you believe I'm stupid ("yes") and I thought you hadn't "launched" this yet?!?! I'm so weird...

Yay for grad school!!! So, if I come back to USC, too, we can basically start college all over again?? Gives me more reason to study harder and retake the GRE! (Which is just as stupid as the GMAT.)

And YAY for Sarah's blog. :)
