Happy St. Patrick's Day

For a girl who doesn't have a drop of Irish blood in her, I sure do love Ireland, St. Patrick's Day, and anything green.

I went to Ireland when I was 18 years old and I still think it's one of my favorite places on earth. The people are laid back and friendly, the culture is based around eating and drinking, and the landscapes are breathtaking. Truly forty shades of green.

Five on Friday - Headed to a Bachelorette Party

So I'm headed to my good friend Krista's bachelorette party on the coast of North Carolina. I don't know anyone who will be there except the bride, but I'm actually really excited to meet everyone. Here are a couple fun things that I have packed for the trip.
I'm linking up with my favs April at A. Liz Adventures and Christina at Carolina Charm for.....

ONE
I know this makes me sound like I'm 80 years old but I love a book on CD when I travel. I can handle music for about an hour and then I'm bored. If I listen to a story the time goes by really fast and I stay awake. I'm listening to The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani. I don't like it as much as Very Valentine but it's still pretty good.

TWO
Even though the weather looks like it'll be cold and rainy we are still going to the coast. I broke out my favorite beach lotion from Bath and Body Works - Coconut Lime Verbena. It just smells beachy and fun.

Speaking of coconuts, I am taking coconut water. I hate coconut. I think it tastes like sucking on a leaf. However people (including my husband) swear that if you drink it after a long night of girly drinks and wine you won't have a hangover. I had it on the night of my Bachelorette and felt great the next day. We will see....

FOUR
As I said it looks cold and rainy at the beach this weekend so I'm bringing a bunch of wedding themed movies in case we need an indoor activity. There is nothing better than wedding movies and wine. What are your favorites?

FIVE
Tissue Paper. After the bride-to-be unwraps all her lingerie we bundle all the "outfits" into different colored tissue paper. She then takes the packets on her honeymoon and lets her new husband pick out a color. It makes the outfit a surprise for them both. You can see that my friends did the same for me here.

I'm so excited about this weekend!

Easter Candy

Why can I stop myself from buying Halloween candy, Christmas candy, and Valentine's Day candy, but I CANNOT control myself around Easter candy?

This was my fuel for the 6 hour drive from Columbia, SC to Orlando, FL on Friday afternoon. The little bags make it better, right?

Then this bag of Starburst jellybeans (tropical flavors) just jumped in my basket the last time I was in Target. It wasn't my fault!

Okay so I'm hoping those will be my only candy purchases this season. Do you have an Easter candy obsession too?

Five on Friday

ONE
I'm heading to Orlando this afternoon and I'm so excited! We have a night on the town planned for tonight, all day at Epcot tomorrow, and brunch somewhere fun on Sunday before I drive back. Anyone have any recommendations for brunch places in Orlando?

TWO
Good friends of our had a baby girl last week and I've become slightly obsessed with trying to make her some hair bows. My mom made me tons of cute bows as a kid and they can be very expensive in a boutique so why not try to make some. I definitely don't have it down just yet but I'm getting better. Have you ever made hair bows? This is a great video tutorial I found.

THREE
For the last couple weeks we have been trying to have very low carb dinners Monday - Thursday. My go to weekday meal was always pasta and our waistlines can't take it anymore. I crave carbs so this has been interesting, but it's all about training your body. I saw this salad on Pinterest and I think I could get on board. (Sans chips on top of course.)

FOUR
I'm tired of cold and rainy. Where is SPRING?

FIVE
Huge shout out to everyone who responded to my post yesterday. I think I've got it fixed and of couse I feel like an idiot because it was so easy. It's so nice to know that people are willing to help a stranger. Thank you so much!

Blogger Help!!!!!!!

Ok so I need your blogger expertise.

I love getting comments but I can't figure out the best way to respond back to them.

The only place I see an option to reply is when I bring up my own blog and open the comments, then hit reply under each comment from a blogger. The problem is this response shows up for everyone to see and I don't know if the response is emailed to the original commenter, or if they ever see it.

I tried to find a way to respond through this other pages but came up with nothing.

I love getting email responses back from when I make comments on other people's blogs. Thankfully Annie at Classic Annie wrote a great post about how to edit your profile so people can respond to your comments.

But I need it from the blogger side, not the commenter side. Does that make any sense? Am I having a complete blonde moment?

****P.S. I don't get email notifications when people leave comments on my page, how do I start getting them?******

Basically, how do I reply to comments on my own blog so that the person who left the comment actually sees that I responded?

What I've Been Reading Lately

The Antelope in the Living Room by Melanie Shankle
This is Melanie's second book and I ran out and purchased it as soon as I finished her first one. This book is all about marriage and how two people combine their lives. I laughed out loud at some of the stories that hit close to home for me. Let's just say my husband and I have had the exact same conversation when it came to painting our house. It's a fast read and totally relatable for a married couple.

Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler
This is a fictional autobiography of Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of the famed author F. Scott Fitzgerald. This was a cool look into the 20's and 30's. Women's rights were being established and woman were experimenting with the idea of being independent and a wife at the same time. This book is a fun look behind the scenes of a very popular, power couple.

Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani
This is such a fun girly book. Valentine is a 30-something, single woman who is learning the family business of custom shoe making. The business is in financial hardship and she has to make some hard decisions. However it's difficult to concentrate on these problems with the new restaurant chef who just moved in next door.

What are you reading?

I'm going to Disney World!!!!

So my husband left yesterday for insurance training in Florida. It’s weird not having him in the house. But my faithful Camden is here to keep me company and I’m determined to become his favorite human by the end of this. ;)

The cool thing is that Andy is in Orlando and since I’ve never been (I know, crazy!!!!) I’m going to drive down for the weekend and spend some time at Disney! Since I’m only going to have pretty much one day we decided to explore Epcot. All the different countries sound really fun and I can’t wait to experience Disney as an adult.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for a one day trip to Disney???????
